Petal FAQs
Where is the farm located, and can I visit?
Our farm is situated 5 minutes north of Appleton, WI. As our farm is also our family home, it is not open to the public. However, we want to share its beauty during peak blooming seasons! We are actively exploring opportunities for visitors and will announce events soon. Be sure to join our newsletter to be the first to know about upcoming farm events!

Where can I buy your flowers? Do you participate in farmer’s markets?
Our custom bouquets are uniquely designed arrangements, crafted with care and attention—quite different from standard market bouquets (which we also adore!). We are planning pop up events this summer to bring our bouquets to a farm stand. Follow us on social media to learn about our events. During our growing season, we also offer a limited number of subscriptions for monthly or bi-monthly bouquets. Most of our flowers are supplied to a select group of partnering florists, which brings us joy knowing our blooms reach so many homes!
Do you provide flowers for weddings or formal events?
Designing florals for weddings and events is one of our favorite aspects of what we do! While we aren’t a full-service florist, we offer a unique a la carte model with transparent pricing. Our approach is perfect for DIY couples, backyard weddings, or anyone needing last-minute floral arrangements. With some flexibility in flower selection and simpler floral plans, we can create stunning bouquets, centerpieces, and more inspired by your color palette and style, available for delivery or pickup on your special day. Please note that we do not provide on-site installations or consultations, as we’re often working in the dirt! If you require full-service floral design, we’re happy to refer you to one of our talented florist partners.
Can I purchase individual stems to create my own arrangements?
Absolutely! Contact us to learn what is in season, and we can arrange for bulk flowers for you.

How many dahlia varieties do you offer, and do you sell tubers?
We specialize in dahlias and grow over 1000 varieties! We are in the process of building our tuber stock and anticipate selling them starting in the 2025/26 season. We will offer shipping across the country, and we’re excited to expand this aspect of our work and share our passion for dahlias!
What types of flowers do you grow?
So many! Here we go:

When is your growing season?
As you can see from our flower list, we have blooms from April - October, however our subscriptions, event floral and custom orders will be open from late June to the middle of October. We hope to expand our season in the future and we are building our stock of early spring and late fall flowers.

Can I schedule a bouquet subscription?
We offer a limited number of weekly or monthly subscriptions so we can artfully create arrangements with the best of the blooms on the farm, and with an individualized and personalized approach.
Can I request specific flower varieties for my order?
You can certainly request specific flowers and we will let you know if they are available. We choose the healthiest and most beautiful blooms for all of our arrangements. You can request the style, feeling you want your bouquet to evoke, and the color palette. We will do our best to honor your flower type request if they are in season on the farm. Requesting your order in advance can allow us to set aside specific blooms for you.
Are your flowers organic or pesticide-free?
We focus on natural and sustainable methods to feed our soil and blooms as well as conserve water. We do not use conventional pesticides on the farm and use only organic practices.
How do I care for my flowers once I receive them?
We carefully condition our flowers once cut, and provide flower food in the arrangements. Some flowers like roses or snapdragons have a long vase life, while others like dahlias have a shorter vase life. That said, your bouquets should retain beauty for many days and you can do some things to help them last even longer.
-
Change the water every other day. Add flower food or a tablespoon of sugar and tsp of bleach to help keep the water fresh and feed the stems.
-
Trim the stems. Before placing your flowers back into the vase with fresh water, snip the bottom of your stems at an angle.
-
Keep your flowers out of bright light or sunlight.
-
If it's possible to refrigerate your bouquet overnight, it will last significantly longer
